Required Documents
- Complete the online Standard Visitor visa application before travel
- Attend a visa application centre appointment and provide biometrics (fingerprints and a photo)
- Valid passport/travel document for the whole stay in the UK
- Evidence you will leave at the end of the visit (e.g. ties to home country, return ticket plans)
- Evidence you can support yourself and any dependants during the trip (bank statements, payslips, etc.)
- Evidence you can pay for your return/onward journey (return ticket or funds to buy one)
- Accommodation details or an invitation/confirmation of where you will stay
- If someone else is funding the trip: sponsor’s evidence of funds, relationship to you, and a sponsorship letter
- Supporting documents for the purpose of visit (itinerary, bookings, invitation letter where applicable)
- If under 18: suitable travel/stay arrangements and written parental/guardian consent (and contact/accommodation details for the adult host)
- Plan for current processing times (guidance: about 3 weeks for applications made outside the UK)
