- Completed Schengen short-stay visa application form
- Two passport-size photos (white background, 35–40 mm, ≤6 months old) — one pasted on application, one clipped to passport
- Roundtrip flight reservation with departure and return dates (itinerary and intra‑Schengen transport proof if visiting multiple Schengen states)
- Proof of accommodation for entire stay (hotel reservation, rental, holiday-home reservation, package tour or advance payment)
- Original travel medical insurance covering entire Schengen stay — minimum coverage €30,000 (also quoted USD 50,000 / CHF 50,000) covering emergency medical care and repatriation
- Proof of funds / means of subsistence: bank-stamped originals (bank statements), recent salary slips, ITRs; employer leave letter for employed applicants; equivalent documents for self‑employed/retired applicants
- Passport photos/biometrics submitted in person (fingerprints + photo) at VFS/consulate appointment
- VFS appointment confirmation and proof of online payment of the VFS processing fee
- For minors: application signed by parent(s)/guardian; consent rules documented if travelling with one parent or alone; birth certificate with Hague Apostille for Indian nationals
Passport issued within the last 10 years; at least 3 months validity beyond scheduled return date; at least two blank pages. Indian handwritten passports / certain manual-data-change passports are not accepted for Schengen travel (per checklist).
