Entry Requirements / Travel Checklist
- Complete Pre-arrival Registration (PAR) online via the designated GovHK service before travel (required for Indian nationals unless in direct air transit and not leaving the airport transit area).
- Ensure your Indian passport used for PAR is valid for at least 6 months at time of application/entry.
- Print the “Notification Slip for Pre-arrival Registration for Indian Nationals” on a blank A4 white paper, sign it, and carry it together with the same Indian passport used for the registration when boarding and on arrival.
- Information entered in PAR must exactly match the passport data and you must use the same passport for travel; if passport is renewed or personal particulars change you must re-apply.
- Bring onward or return ticket (unless in transit to Chinese Mainland or the Macao SAR) and demonstrate adequate funds to cover the duration of your stay without working.
- PAR result is provided instantly by the online system; successful registration is valid for six months and allows multiple visits during that validity, each visit up to 14 days.
- If PAR cannot be completed, apply for an entry visa from the HKSAR Immigration Department before travel (Chinese diplomatic/consular missions do not accept visit visa applications from Indian nationals).
- At arrival you remain subject to immigration control; entry is not guaranteed. If admitted, you will be issued a landing slip stating conditions and limit of stay.
- Visitors are not permitted to take up employment (paid or unpaid), establish or join in any business, or study in Hong Kong as a visitor.
- For travellers under 16, a parent or legal guardian must check the PAR data and sign the notification slip.

Indian nationals may visit Hong Kong visa‑free for up to 14 days only after completing PAR. Holders of Indian diplomatic or official passports, holders of a valid HKSAR Travel Pass, those enrolled for e-Channel frequent visitor service, or those with a valid entry visa are not required to complete PAR. Entry remains subject to normal immigration requirements and can be refused.
