Greece Visa Checklist — India Passport (Visa Required)
Tourist · Schengen short-stay (tourist) — up to 90 days in any 180-day period
Required Documents
- Visa: Schengen short-stay (tourist) visa required for Indian ordinary passport holders — apply via the Greece Visa Application Center network in India.
- Passport: valid for at least 3 months after intended departure from the Schengen area; issued within the previous 10 years; at least 2 blank pages.
- Application timing: you may submit the application no more than 6 months before travel; apply well in advance.
- Processing time: normally up to 15 working days after admissibility; can extend to 45 calendar days in individual cases.
- Travel proof: round-trip flight reservation / full itinerary for the trip.
- Accommodation proof: hotel reservations / proof of accommodation for all nights.
- Means of subsistence: proof of regular income and/or bank statements for the last 3 months (salary slips, account turnover statements as applicable).
- Travel medical insurance: minimum coverage EUR 30,000; must cover emergency medical care, hospitalization and repatriation; valid for the entire Schengen area and for the full duration of stay.
- Photograph: recent colour digital photograph taken within the last 6 months in the prescribed format (local visa centre may require specific photo submission method such as myPhoto).
- Minors: minors under 18 — original birth certificate and parents’/guardians’ passports required; must be accompanied by both parents/legal guardians where indicated; if one parent is absent, a written consent from the absent parent is required and the signature must be validated by a Greek authority.
- Border/entry: Entry/Exit System (EES) is in force at Greek airports from 10 April 2026 (biometric entry/exit processing at border).
- No eVisa/visa-on-arrival: no official Greek source found indicating eVisa or visa-on-arrival for Indian ordinary passport holders for tourism.
Passport must be valid at least 3 months beyond intended departure from Schengen, issued within the last 10 years, with at least 2 blank pages.
Recent colour digital photograph taken within the last 6 months in the prescribed format; local visa centre may require specific submission (e.g., myPhoto).
Proof of regular income and/or bank statements for the last 3 months (salary slips, account turnover statements as listed in Greece MFA supporting-documents).
Travel medical insurance with minimum coverage EUR 30,000 covering emergency medical care, hospitalization and repatriation, valid for the entire Schengen area and the full duration of stay.
Round-trip travel reservation / itinerary covering the whole trip.
Original birth certificate and parents’/guardians’ passports; accompanied by both parents/legal guardians where applicable; if one parent absent, written consent from the other parent validated by a Greek authority is required.
Apply at the Greece Visa Application Centre in India. Submit no more than 6 months before travel. Normal processing up to 15 working days after admissibility; may extend to 45 calendar days in individual cases.
Official Greek MFA lists India = VISA for ordinary passports (visa-free applies only to Indian diplomatic passports).
