Required Documents
- Apply for a Schengen short-stay visa in advance (no eVisa or visa-on-arrival route for Indian nationals).
- Applications may be submitted up to 180 days before travel (not earlier).
- Apply through the Danish visa application process/VFS (online form) and attend VFS/embassy for biometrics where required.
- Signed cover letter stating purpose of visit, duration, companions, transport and accommodation is required.
- Submit passport (valid at least 3 months beyond intended stay/visa expiry) with at least two blank pages.
- One recent passport-size colour photo (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm), less than 6 months old.
- Proof of sufficient funds: personal bank statements for last 3 months plus evidence of means of subsistence (DKK 350/day if staying with a private host; DKK 500/day if staying in a hotel).
- Travel medical insurance valid for all Schengen countries covering at least EUR 30,000 for the entire trip (including arrival and departure dates).
- Proof of travel and accommodation: return/onward flight reservation and hotel booking or accommodation guarantee covering the full stay.
- Supporting financial/employment documents as applicable (e.g. ITR acknowledgements for last 2 assessment years, payslips, employment contract/leave letter, company registration/GST, sponsor proof, or pension statements).
- Minors (under 18): birth certificate and, depending on arrangements, notarised consent from the other parent(s) plus copies of parents’ passports/IDs.
- If documents are missing/incorrect VFS may require them to be provided within 3 days; additional documents or an interview may be requested.
