Required Documents
- Complete online Chinese visa application form via China Online Visa Application System (consular.mfa.gov.cn/VISA/) as required by the Chinese Embassy/Consulate in your locality.
- Valid passport (submit passport and photo) — include previous Chinese passport or previous Chinese visa if applicable (submit originals/copies as required).
- Passport photo (submit with application; follow specifications on the China Online Visa Application System or the website of the Chinese Embassy/Consulate).
- Proof of legal stay or residence (if applying from a country where you are not a national) — as required by the Chinese Embassy/Consulate in your locality.
- Itinerary documents: round‑trip air ticket booking records and hotel reservations OR an invitation letter issued by a Chinese entity or individual.
- If using an invitation letter, it must contain: (a) personal information of the invited (name, gender, date of birth, etc.); (b) itinerary information (dates of arrival and departure, tourist places to visit, etc.); (c) information of the inviting entity/person (name, contact phone number, address, official seal/signature as applicable).
- Be prepared to provide any additional supporting documents or to attend an interview if requested by consular officers.
