Visa Fee

Visitor visa (TRV) application fee: CAD 100. Biometrics fee: CAD 85 per person.

Passport validity

Passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date you plan to travel; passport should have at least one free (blank) page for visa.

Photo requirements

Two identical photos for TRV application, taken within the last 6 months, printed on quality photographic paper; follow IRCC temporary resident visa photograph specifications (size and other specs required).

Financial proof

Proof of enough money for the stay — IRCC states funds required depend on length of stay and where you will stay (no fixed amount listed in this source).

Travel insurance

No routine travel/medical insurance requirement for standard tourist (visitor) visa applicants in the standard visitor-visa guidance; IRCC does require medical insurance for the separate 'super visa' category.

Travel / stay proof

If invited, bring a letter of invitation; border officers may request evidence of travel plans or ties demonstrating intent to leave. For arrival, CBSA Declaration (E311) and optional Advance CBSA Declaration/ArriveCAN (submit up to 72 hours before arrival) are available.

For minors

Minors need a travel authorization letter from parent(s)/guardian(s); custody, adoption or other supporting documents may be required depending on the situation.

Processing note

Processing times vary by country and depend on application completeness. A visa/permit does not guarantee entry — final admission is decided by border services officers.

Important notes

India is listed by IRCC as a visa-required country (not eligible for eTA). Biometrics are usually required after applying. Fees stated are from IRCC guidance (CAD 100 TRV fee; CAD 85 biometrics).

Visa and entry requirements can change. Final admission, visa issuance and immigration decisions remain subject to the relevant government, embassy, consulate or immigration authority. Check the official source again before travel.
