Required Documents
- Valid passport or other travel document (scan/photo pages showing photo, personal details, issue and expiry dates).
- Apply online via ImmiAccount for Visitor visa (subclass 600) โ Tourist stream and pay the visa application fee (Home Affairs will not start processing until fee is paid).
- Demonstrate sufficient funds โ include recent bank statements or other evidence of access to money.
- Itinerary and travel details (planned dates, accommodation, flights).
- Evidence you intend to return home โ e.g. employer leave letter, payslips, enrollment letter, proof of family ties or property.
- If visiting family/friends: letter of invitation from hosts.
- Scan/photograph all supporting documents in colour and ensure they are clear and legible.
- Arrange private health insurance (strongly recommended; some grants may include condition 8501 requiring adequate health insurance).
- If applicant is under 18: birth certificate, passports of parents/guardians, and consent/guardianship documents if parents are not travelling. Home Affairs may refuse if not in the child's best interests.
- On arrival complete the Incoming Passenger Card and present your passport/travel document.
- Be outside Australia when you apply and when a decision is made for an offshore application; processing times are provided as a guide only.
