Most itineraries centre on Marrakech as the cultural highlight, with Casablanca often used as the arrival city given its larger international airport, and a day trip to the Atlas Mountains or a desert excursion added for travellers with more time. Morocco's blend of Arab, Berber and French influences gives it a distinct character that doesn't closely resemble anywhere else in a typical India-to-Europe or India-to-Middle-East itinerary.

A well-rounded 7-8 day trip allows one to two days in Casablanca, four to five days in Marrakech (including its souks, palaces and a half-day Atlas Mountains trip), and an optional overnight desert excursion toward Merzouga or Zagora for travellers wanting the Sahara experience.
